Delegate's Report Archive January 1, 2006
On January 1st 2006 I was at the New Years Eve dance at the Alkathon in Spokane. Around 12:05 AM my sponsor found me in the crowd, shook my hand and said congratulations. At first I was thinking what did I do? Then it hit me what he was talking about. I was now the delegate for WSEA 92. Leave it to my sponsor to be the one to remember and the first one to congratulate me.
As your new delegate I will do my best to live up to the legacy of those who served before as delegate to the General Service Conference for WSEA 92. I really don't know how this happened. Past delegate Ben B. says you can't get here from there. "Here" is to be sober happy and of service to Alcoholics Anonymous. "There" was drunk, lonely, scared and of service to no one not even myself. So I don't need to figure out how it happened I can just enjoy the ride.
I am looking forward to our Spring Pre-Conference Assembly where I will get to hear your conscience on the Agenda items we discuss there. The assembly is April 7-9 in Colville Washington. There is a flyer and registration form on the Area 92 Calendar of Events page on this web site. Here are some other events and links you will find on Area 92 Calendar of Events
PRAASA (Pacific Region Service Assembly of Alcoholics Anonymous) March 3-5
56TH GENERAL SERVICE CONFERENCE April 23-29
PACIFIC REGIONAL FORUM IN SEATTLE June 23-26
PACIFIC NORTHWEST CONFERENCE IN HERMISTION OREGON June 30- July 2
The GSO web site aa.org has a great section called Services for Members. There you will find links to all kinds of publications and services.
Included are:
Issues of Box 459 back to 2001
All of AA Guidelines
Free Service Material
New Group Forms
Group Change Forms
The AA Group Pamphlet
The AA Service Manuel
Plus many more publications and links
I hope to see all of the Area 92 GSRs at the Pre-Conference Assembly. You are your group's link to AA as whole. The more participation we have the greater unity we have.
The first tradition tells me my sobriety depends on AA Unity. To me that means my life depends on AA unity. If we all work together and all participate in AA beyond the home group we all have a chance and we will be here for next suffering drunk coming through the doors of Alcoholic Anonymous.
Yours In Service and Love,
Dave |
