I am on the plane on my way home with a time to reflect and go over both the early bird Box 459 and my notes. Most of my comments here will be aimed at getting you all to attend one of the many Post Conference Delegates reports click here for the schedule.
I am looking forward to reporting to you all on the 54th General Service Conference. Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Manhattan. April 17-24, 2004 “Singleness of Purpose the Cornerstone of AA”. We have 3 new Class B Trustees Southeast, East Central, and a Trustee at Large from Canada. There will also be an opening for a Class A trustee next year as Elaine McDowell Board Chair rotates after 13 years of unselfishly serving AA as a Class A Trustee. I have a new understanding after the conference of the tremendous contributions of the Class A Trustees and hope to speak about that contribution.
The Conference I was told would be a life-changing event. I can only say to all the Past Delegates who said that to me underestimated the effect. It is a life changing event. I will never be the same again.
Up until the time the conference started I was operating on the principal that Unity is the thing that we speak of at our Home Groups. I have experienced Unity in a way that lifts the sprit to new heights. It is what we talk about but more.
Please come to a report to hear more about the New Digital Archives Project at the Grapevine. www.aagv.org and the International convention in Toronto June 30-July 2005.
Just more than 24 hours ago I was in an AA meeting in Greenwich Village where a group of us from the Pacific Region were greeted warmly and had the pleasure of being in a great AA meeting talking about the 10ths step. AA is the same the world around.
Time to remind you all of the Forum in Portland July 18-19 and our Pacific Northwest Conference in Yakima July 2-3 flyers for both can be found here
Enough for now see you at a Delegates report.
In Love and Service, Mike
